I know that’s a bold statement, but with his collection of masterful musicians, Frisell, Holland and Konitz, Wheeler creates an almost sacred atmosphere of subtlety and beauty. I don’t know how many times I’ve heard it but after about 20 years it still holds my interest, with some passages so beautiful they defy comprehension. Kenny Wheeler has recorded some wonderful music, but this tops them all. ”
